Chinese Medicine and Etiomedicine: Two Complementary Approaches

Traditional Chinese medicine and etiomedicine are two different approaches, each with its own tools and ways of understanding. Yet, they converge on an essential point: they both view the person as a whole.

In Chinese medicine, physical symptoms are not considered in isolation. They are connected to the overall functioning of the body, as well as to the person’s life context and emotional state.

Etiomedicine allows a more specific exploration of what, in a person’s history or emotional experience, seems to resonate with what they are going through today.

Depending on the needs, I use one approach or the other, or I combine them when they seem complementary.
